Kalojam is a popular sweet dish in Bangladesh, as well as in other South Asian countries like India and Pakistan. It is a deep-fried dessert made from chhana (a type of cheese), flour, sugar, and sometimes flavored with cardamom or rose water.
The process of making kalojam involves shaping the chhana and flour mixture into small balls, frying them until they are golden brown, and then soaking them in a sugar syrup. After soaking, they become soft, sweet, and syrupy. Kalojam is typically dark brown or black in color, hence the name "kalo" which means black in Bengali.
